Taste of Asia – Interior fit-out
An interiors project for an Asian cuisine fast food outlet located in the Tuggerah Westfields food court. The client engaged us for the design, detail, and project management of their retail fit-out.
The client wanted customers to be able to watch the chef engaged in cooking their meals from behind the counter. We located the cooking area behind a low height wall to facilitate viewing of the cooking process.
We produced a subtle transition using colours and material textures between the front service area which consisted of bain-maries for food display, cash register, and a drinks fridge, and the cooking preparation area beyond.
The front counter largely done in a light-coloured stone creates the base which contrasts nicely with the black tiles and red and white tones of the laser cut cherry blossom motif prevalent in the franchise logo.
In conjunction with the front counter is the menu board overhead which forms a backdrop to the counter space and clearly defines the cooking area beyond, with a decorative wood washed colour palette bulkhead to compliment the cherry blossom motif.
Beyond the front counter and behind a low height wall is the food preparation area which has a combination of woks and hot plates, with concealed cool room, dry storage, and cleaning area.
The cooking preparation zone has black tiled and stainless-steel lined walls.
The project was designed and constructed as per Westfield corporations and NSW food preparations stringent retail design guidelines.
