RZK Group was engaged to design, specify and document a new residential home and swimming pool to replace an existing dwelling at Riverview, bordering Lane Cove in NSW.
Located in a well-established tree-lined street and occupying a large (828sqm) level parcel of land, the original full brick Californian bungalow enjoyed a north-facing aspect to the rear.
Our client’s requirements were simple – to design a contemporary residence that would not look out of place among neighbouring original brick dwellings while simultaneously creating a fresh aspirational look for Riverview that will stand the test of time.
Our response was to focus on sensible planning and design a home that delivers clean lines, clear paths of circulation and a striking yet simple, balanced exterior.
Indoor living spaces have been designed to flow seamlessly into outdoor patios and a luxuriously high vaulted ceiling over the main living area will create an impact and flood the home with natural light.
We specified a simple, contemporary palette of materials and colours, including standing seam metal cladding and roof, rendered brick, timber veneers, stone floors and a striking mosaic-tiled swimming pool. Shades of white and grey will blend beautifully with the proposed combination of metal, timber and stone.
The result is a wonderfully balanced home that will blend effortlessly into its surroundings while offering a glimpse of what’s possible for the future of the suburb.
