When designing Pozieres House, our mission was to create a home, not a facility. Attention to detail and a focus on the latest proven research into ageing in place and memory care has resulted in a centre where residents can feel safe and secure, a place of comfort, peace and joy, a place to welcome family and other guests, a place to call home for their next chapter.
Pozieres House is unique to other aged care developments on the Central Coast that house up to thirty residents in one common area. There are 111 resident bedrooms in the development, spread over three intimate wings to achieve a familiar, warm and welcoming domestic setting, with a fourth wing serving as the reception and multipurpose area. The result is an ageing in place development unlike anything the Central Coast has seen before.
We have been working with RZK Group for around four years now, initially solely for architectural design projects and more recently also for construction work.
The first projects Claudia completed for us was the Master Plan concept design for a new hostel and the design for an extension and upgrade to the façade of our nursing home. Claudia’s designs for both projects were absolutely beautiful and carefully considered. She coped exceptionally well with the challenge of adapting to a number of Peninsula Village Centre leadership changes and working with a large Board of Directors. Claudia was very flexible to change requests and utterly professional every step of the way.
Claudia’s most recent project with us was the design of a new 120-bed facility, which includes a dementia care unit, a project valued at around $30 million. Claudia not only impressed us once again with her design skills, but she also showed great initiative by studying the specific needs of dementia residents and the latest research into dementia care design principles and incorporating what she learned into her designs.
In the last few months Vince has also been working with us in his capacity as a builder and project manager. Vince has done an absolutely beautiful job in renovating the interior of our Independent Living Units, some of which are more than 40 years old. The vision behind the renovations is to help people remain independent within their own units for as long as possible, giving them what they need to fulfil this vision. Claudia worked on the designs for this renovation project and the pair work seamlessly together. Both Claudia and Vince are very easy to work with and nothing is ever a problem, even when called in at short notice.
